I bought this chair 8-08 and have used it for on and off road dog walking and for triathlon with off road run courses. The chair has been great. Yesterday 1-29-13 I was hit by a car while walking my dog. The chair was destroyed, but my dog and I were uninjured. On top of being a great chair for outdoor activity, I give this chair a 5 star crash rating. I'm buying a replacement today.

Going on three years since purchased.
This is a terrific chair.
Pros: paint wears like iron. The minimalist frame design is perfect. I thought the gigantic rear tires overkill until I took it out in deep snow and realized they float over it. I put 3/4"x15" hand rims on to keep hands out of snow. had to cut inside row of knobbies away and strap knees together to preserve pants. Easy to remove uphoustery. holes for front brand plate perfect for water bottle mount.
cons: front wheel bearings are cheap and wear out fast. Frame came a little long in length. 1/2" or so. Included strapping a mystery. Used it as calf strap.
I have 42 years as T4 tramatic para and this is the best chair ever.

Ten years on after buying. Invented new sport with it, with small handrims and using track chair stroke, bungy cord around front caster spindles to slow chatter, weight lifting belt around seat back for suport, taped fingers and she flys. Nylon strap around front caster posts
and bunnggy cord around frame carry huge duffle for travel, dog food, firewood.
On 8th chevy blazer don't need to break chair down at all get in on passenger side reclined seat back throw in back with drivers side rear seat folded down. Be prepared to take off a piece of paint every time in.
Advantages: don't need handbike or race chair anymore especially when travelling. Upholstery strips off and on easily and fast.
Disadvantages: need an inside chair, Top End regular chairs are open frame and nicely mesh with this chair for transferring

I have been using a wheelchair since 1979, during that time I have owned a number of wheelchairs, manual, power as well as handbikes. My current Quickie 2 was almost 20 years old, I am very active, this chair held up very well..but it was time for a new chair. After looking around I decided on another Quickie 2, it's lightweight, foldable and compact, making it easy for me to load up in my car on my own. Sportaid (Gwen) made sure every detail was taken care of and that I was 100% happy with my purchase. I would not hesitate to work with them again.
