Out-Front MBL Composite Scissor Wheel Locks

They are pretty solid and the lock/swing mechanism is neat. But they are very finicky to mount because they need to be placed very close to the tire (meaning the wheel needs to be very close to the frame), and the tube that slides into the wheelchair clamp is very short. It's about a 2/3 the size of a standard tube. This is the cylinder that the brake mechanism is attached to and that slides into the clamp which attaches to the wheelchair.

Advantages: Sleek.
Good hold with little effort to move the lever.
Completely out of the way.

Disadvantages: Minimal adaptability. They're small/short, so you cannot extend out very wide. The mounting tube is also considerably shorter than most, so the forward/back adjustability is limited. If there's a x-weld bar on your chair at the wrong spot, the only want to mount these brakes is to change your center of gravity by sliding your rear wheels forward/back to compensate.

I like these locks so much I bought another pair for my other wheelchair. By far the best locks I have owned.

Advantages: Longevity, build strength, well thought out design. Out of the way and instant access.

Disadvantages: None

Great brakes easy to adjust, two positions solid lock and soft stop, always have the same stop pressure.

Advantages: Easy to adjust on different tire range, fits on a wide range of chairs, always have the same pressure.

Disadvantages: None up till now!

Work very well, easy to install and use.

Advantages: Easy to install

Greatest brake for wheelchair ever made.

Advantages: Compact easy to lock.

Disadvantages: None that I know of yet!!!
