32 years as a T9 Para, had Quadrs chairs in the 80's, Swedish Ti chairs in the 90's, Quicky GT Ti's in after that, one of the Panther carbon fibers too. I have had my 2nd TiLite ZR bought from SportAid, Jimbo helps with detailed tricky stuff, he can be short on patience but he knows his stuff. My ZR is 4 months old now and the new back folding assembly is much better than the old one, the one sided fork is better, its got a rubber bumper ring so you don't scratch furniture so badly. I drive Vetts and Benz SL's and the body is the lightest best feeling Ti body I have ever used. If your getting your 1st "non-adjusting chair" You cannot do better. The large tubing is great to grab when transferring, feels better than smaller tubing. 6 Years using ZR and only fabric and bearing have ever worn out. Again, talk to Jimbo if this is your 1st "SET" adjustment TiLite. Well worth the money, and DON'T try to polish the frame by yourself.

The ZR from TiLite is the best daily chair money can buy. The light weight, durability, build quality, and overall sense of "class" that come from a TiLite is second to none. I often compare my TiLites to my other chairs as being similar to comparing a 2023 Bentley to a 1985 Honda Civic, they’ll both get you from point A to B but who wouldn’t prefer to take the trip in the Bentley? Lol.
While the advantages of titanium over aluminum are easy to list by word on paper, weight, strength, durability, flexibility, and the beauty of the titanium itself; the true advantages are felt when you use it.
I just received my second ZR I've bought through Sportaid and I couldn’t be happier. While I’ll admit I’ve had my frustrations with TiLite since they were bought out by Permobil, the quality of the chairs they produce is still as high as it’s ever been despite not having the person to person connection I had when they were their own company.
This is where my true review and most valuable information I can pass along to those reading this review and thinking of buying their first TiLite comes. While the chair is on another level of quality that’s almost impossible to describe until you have one, the best thing I can tell you about is the people of Sportaid, one in particular named Gwen.
I’ve bought three chairs, and countless parts, from this company over the last 12 years totaling over $15k and each time I’ve had the blessing of working with Gwen on my chair orders. She is an extremely valuable asset to Sportaid due entirely to her personal demeanor. She is kind, polite, and an absolute pleasure to work with. She takes pride in her job and will answer any questions you have in a timely manner and insure you’re buying and getting exactly what you order. When you spend thousands of your own hard-earned dollars buying something important as a wheelchair, she makes you feel confident and have zero remorse.

I've purchased a number of TiLite chairs through Sportaid over the years and will continue to do so moving forward. TiLite chairs are very customizable (especially the ZR) and getting the specifications correct are crucial. Gwen at Sportaid always does a thorough sanity check before making the final order and lets me know if something looks askew and flags me when something doesn't look right avoiding a very costly error. She has saved me more than once.
Advantages: I haven't found a better manual, rigid wheelchair than the TiLite ZR. The thin wall titanium is ultra-light, strong, durable and forgiving. The chairs are superbly engineered. The welds and build quality are beautiful. There are no unnecessary gimmicks with the TiLite ZR, just an optimally designed chair built to last.

**Weight based on 16″ x 16″ wheelchair with all standard features except rear wheels. Rear wheels are not included due to the varying weights of the numerous wheel configurations offered by TiLite. For reference, a pair of standard 24″ (540) rear wheels weighs 7.2 lb.
The chair folds tight and narrow. The chair is super light and has may upgrade options. For a person always on the go like my self to have a chair like this where all I do is jump in my two door car pop the wheels off fold the chair up and slide it to the back seat is great!
